I know you’ve probably heard so much about the health benefits of chia seeds. Anyway, let me tell you a few words about this amazing ancient superfood. Did you know, that chia is originally grown in Mexico and means “strength” in the Mayan language? In fact, those small seeds were referred as the “runners food”. Packed with energy-boosting power, the warriors would use chia as a fuel while running long distance and participating in battles. Chia seeds helped them staying hydrated and full of energy. In the past few years, chia has become one of the most popular superfoods in the health community. Rich in omega 3-fats, fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals, this magical superfood is a versatile ingredient to smoothies, salads, healthy desserts and snacks. And yummy chia pudding recipes of course!
