We’ve been living in Phuket, Thailand for over 6 months and we still can’t get enough of the beautiful beaches here. To be honest, we have never been fans of the huge crowded beaches. Therefore, one of the reasons we chose to live in the peaceful area of Rawai, are the stunning small beaches in this part of the island. Along with Ao Sane and Ya Nui Beach, Laem Ka Beach is one of those dreamy hidden gems, that remain relatively peaceful and tranquil even in high season.
Laem Ka Beach – A Peaceful And Serene Small Heaven in Rawai, Phuket
This pure 150 m long white sandy beach is located close to the famous Rawai Beach. When we first found it, we though it was a true paradise. The beach has stunning views over the beautiful nearby Coral island, as well as Koh Bon and Koh Lone islands. The green water is good for swimming. There are beautiful rocks on both sides of the beach and lots of shade trees. We usually go there around 8.30 am and the beach is almost empty. Later you can see couples and families with small kids, but the beach still looks so peaceful and serene. The beach is also a favorite picnic spot for Thai families.
Our kids just LOVE playing on the rocks…
This buddy is a rock star here! Don’t be surprised if you meet him somewhere around the beach. In fact, he lives here. He is sweet and kind, and will steal your heart like everyone else on the beach : )
How to get to Laem Ka Beach
If you’re coming from Chalong to Rawai Beach, spot the 7-11 store on the left side of the road, opposite the entrance of Rawai temple. Take the tiny road next to the store, pass through the security barrier (which is usually open from 7 am. – 6 pm.) and drive through a private tropical plantation, full of stunningly beautiful coconut trees. After 1 km you will see a car park where you can leave your car or motorbike.
