But, let me first tell you a little bit about Grandma and her enchanting vegetable garden. When I was little, my brother and I used to spend the summer vacations with our grandparents. This is such a sweet memory from my childhood. We played all day long outside and enjoyed the most delicious homegrown fruits and veggies. Tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplants, green beans, red and green peppers, figs and grapes… the abundance of these fresh summer beauties has always filled my heart with happiness. And now, Grandma is already 89 years old, but she still grows these treasures in her garden. So proud of her!
Red, juicy, flavorful and heavenly delicious tomato, freshly picked from Grandma’s garden.
Cucumbers and red peppers are about to grow up.
Grapes and figs are usually ready in the end of August. And they are sooo insanely yummy!
Grandma also grows pumpkins in her garden. They become sooo huge until they are ready for harvest in October.
I’m so happy that our two monkeys just l-o-v-e playing in my Grandma’s cozy courtyard. They absolutely adore watering and picking the summer treasures in her garden. This is so inspiring for the little kiddos : ) And those red giant tomatoes are the perfect base for our simple and refreshing summer Tomato Avocado Salad.
